“There are no moral shortcuts in the game of business or life. There are, basically, three kinds of people, the unsuccessful, the temporarily successful, and those who become and remain successful. The difference is character.”
Ethics are defined by an individual’s moral judgments about right and wrong. The decision to behave ethically is a moral one; entrepreneurs must decide what they think is the right course of action. This may involve rejecting the route that would lead to the biggest short-term profit.
It is clear that businesses without ethics are businesses at risk.
Good ethical practices by companies lead to increased trust, and trust is something that cannot be replaced or achieved easily. When a business builds its foundation on trust and good ethical practices, what follows is an increase in effectiveness and efficiency. Some companies fail to see this and blindly rush after profits. For them, their only bottomline is greater and bigger profits, at any cost. What they don’t realize is that by doing so, they are endangering the entire chain that will lead to good profits for them in the long run. Entrepreneurs need to have a BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW which shows that God is over ALL.
If you think you have the right ethics and values to be an entrepreneur… Congratulations!
